WSDOT's Title VI Program’s primary goal is to ensure all management, staff, contractors, local agencies, and service beneficiaries are aware of the provisions of Title VI and the responsibilities associated with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 requires all recipients of federal funds to demonstrate how they have ensured their actions do not discriminate against minorities and low income populations. This process is known as Environmental Justice (EJ) and is part of the environmental documentation completed under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
