Fairhaven Area: Northwest Washington Resurfacing - #9193

Deming Area: Intersection Improvements - #9172

Description: WSDOT contractor crews from Coloacurcio Brothers are building a roundabout at the east junction of SR 9 and SR 542. This project will improve safety by reducing speeds of SR 542 travelers, allowing SR 9 travelers safer turning movements.

  • This roundabout is open for traffic during the weekend and overnights hours.
  • Monday, June 25 through Thursday, June 28 - Flaggers could alternate traffic through the intersection of SR 542 and SR 9 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Glacier Area: Hedrick Creek Fish Passage - #9042

Ferndale Area: SR 548/Grandview & Kickerville Road Intersection Improvements - #9218

Description: WSDOT contractor crews from Tiger Construction will build a roundabout at the intersection of SR 548 and Grandview/Kickerville Roads to improve safety. This intersection is currently a 4-way-stop and will remain that way until the roundabout project begins.

  • Around-the-clock flagging will be in place once this project begins and will last about a month.

  • Monday, June 18 and Tuesday, June 19 - Crews could close one lane of SR 9 over the Skagit River Bridge, south of Sedro-Woolley from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. for camera and bridge sealing work. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the open lane.
Big Lake Area: Gribble Creek Fish Passage - #9167

Description: WSDOT contractor crews are improving fish habitat through Gribble Creek under SR 9 in the Lake McMurray area.

  • Thursday, June 21 - Utility crews will close one lane of SR 9 north of West Big Lake Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility relocation work in advance of the fish passage project. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the open lane.
  • This project is expected to start on Monday, July 9.
Clear Lake Area: Francis Road Intersection Improvements - #9219

Description: WSDOT contractor crews from SRV Construction are building a roundabout at the intersection of SR 9 and Francis/Old Day Creek Roads to improve safety.

  • Monday, June 18, through Friday, June 21 - Crews will close SR 9 at Francis Road for roundabout work. A signed detour will be in place.
  • Monday, June 18, until Thursday, June 20 - Crews will close one lane of SR 9 for roundabout work from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily Monday through Thursday. Flaggers will alternate traffic through a single lane.
Sedro-Woolley Area: SR 20 & SR 9 Paving & ADA Improvements - #9221

Highway: SR 9    Region: Northwest    County: Skagit    Location: Milepost(s) 64.82 - 67.10

Description: WSDOT contractor crews from Granite Construction are repaving three miles of SR 20 and one mile of SR 9 through Sedro-Woolley. Crews will also improve nearly a dozen highway crossings to improve access for people of all abilities.

Anacortes Area: Sharpes Corner to Anacortes Ferry Terminal Paving & ADA Improvements - #9180

Description: WSDOT contractor crews from Lakeside Industries are improving pedestrian access at more than three dozen areas for people of all abilities and are paving two different sections of the SR 20 Spur through Anacortes.

  • Sunday, June 17 to the morning of Friday, June 22 - Crews will close one lane of SR 20 Spur between Commercial Avenue and the Anacortes Ferry Terminal from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. for striping work. Flaggers will alternate travelers through an open lane.
  • Monday, June 25 to the morning of Friday, June 29 - Crews will close one lane of SR 20 Spur between Commercial Avenue and the Anacortes Ferry Terminal nightly from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. for striping work. Flaggers will alternate travelers through an open lane.
  • Approximately Tuesday, July 10 - Crews will reduce SR 20 Spur between Sharpes Corner and Commercial Avenue to two lanes - one lane in each direction - for approximately two weeks for paving work.
Anacortes Area: Sharpes Corner Area Intersection Improvements - #9177

Description: WSDOT contractor crews from Tapani Inc. are building a roundabout at the intersection of SR 20 and Miller/Gibralter Roads, and the SR 20 Spur (Sharpes Corner) to improve safety and efficiency.

Work Schedule:

  • Through June - Crews will reduce lanes through the SR 20 SR 20 Spur intersection, known as Sharpes Corner. These reductions will be in place around-the-clock, including nights and weekends. Drivers through this area will notice different lane configurations frequently as crews work to complete this work before the Fourth of July holiday. Expect delays and congestion through this area.
Sedro-Woolley Area: SR 20 & SR 9 Paving & ADA Improvements - #9221
