Fairhaven Area: Northwest Washington Resurfacing - #9193

  • Monday, Sept. 17  - Crews will close one lane of SR 11/Chuckanut Drive between Teddy Bear Cove and Fairhaven between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for highway preservation work. Work hours could shift based on weather and air temperature.

Lynden Area: Northwest Washington Resurfacing - #9193

  • Sweeping and the final sealant layer of material was applied to this stretch on Wednesday, Aug. 29 and Thursday, Aug. 30.
  • TBA - Crews will close one lane of SR 539/Guide Meridian Road between Badger Road and H Street between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. for striping work. Work hours could shift based on weather and air temperature.
Glacier Area: Hedrick Creek Fish Passage - #9042

Description: WSDOT contractor crews are removing an old narrow culvert and replacing it with a new bridge on SR 542 near Glacier.

  • Monday, Sept. 17, through Friday, Sept. 21 - Crews will work on the Hedrick Creek fish passage project at milepost 32 on SR 542 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Crews could close one lane of Mount Baker Highway during this work and have flaggers alternate traffic through the open lane.
Mount Baker Highway: Northwest Washington Resurfacing - #9193

Work schedule:

  • Until further notice - Puget Sound Energy crews will close one lane of SR 544 from SR 539/Guide Meridian Road to Hannegan Road daily, including weekends, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and brief holds to traffic in all directions could happen between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Crews will not work between 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, and 12 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Ferndale Area: SR 548/Grandview & Kickerville Road Intersection Improvements - #9218

Description: WSDOT contractor crews from Tiger Construction will build a roundabout at the intersection of SR 548 and Grandview/Kickerville Roads to improve safety. This intersection is currently a 4-way-stop and will remain that way until the roundabout project begins.

  • Monday, Sept. 24 - PSE crews will close one lane of SR 20 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in small stretches between Deception Pass Bridge and Newhalem for meter work. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the open lane.
Fidalgo Island - Waterline Work

Parking along this stretch will also be closed and vehicles left in this area could be towed. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the open lane. Work hours and dates could shift based on weather and air temperature.

Northern Whidbey Island: SR 20 and Banta Road/Northgate Drive

Description: In 2019, WSDOT contractor crews will build a roundabout at SR 20 and Banta Road/Northgate Drive on Whidbey Island. In advance of roundabout construction, companies with utilities in this area will work to locate and move equipment.

  • Wednesday, Sept. 19 - Crews will close the southbound right turn lane on SR 20 at Banta Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for potholing work. Crews, barrels and signage will help drivers get to their destination.
