SR 124 - Monument Drive Railroad Crossing - Construct Bridge

Fall 2017

This project is currently under construction and is anticipated to be complete in November 2017. Currently, there are no impacts to traffic, however, drivers will see some delay when crews pave mid to late October.

Why is WSDOT constructing a bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad crossing?
WSDOT will construct a bridge over the Union Pacific railroad crossing to allow SR 124 traffic to cross above the railroad. Monument Drive will reconnect to SR 124 west of its current location. Moving the intersection will improve safety for traffic entering SR 124.

The End Result
By removing the intersection at the railroad, this project eliminates collisions between vehicles and trains.

Project Benefits

  • Eliminates collisions between trains and vehicles
  • Improves safety by elevating the highway above the railroad
  • Reduces delays

What is the project timeline?
