Cyclists on the regional shared use pathNew cross-lake bike path to reach Montlake this fall
Excited for the new bicycle and pedestrian path along SR 520 to connect Seattle and the Eastside? We are too! We don’t yet know exactly when the path will open from the new floating bridge to Montlake, but it’s on schedule to happen sometime this fall. Stay tuned.

Happy birthday, floating bridge! You're a winner!
The new SR 520 floating bridge turned 1 year old on April 25. We saluted the first anniversary of the new span's opening with a short video, an online booklet and a celebratory blog post. But the biggest gift of the day was a prestigious international award the floating bridge project received for engineering excellence. Read all about it and watch this special award video.

Application for Montlake Phase noise variance
WSDOT recently applied for a noise variance from the city of Seattle for the upcoming Montlake Phase of SR 520 construction. More information on the application is available on the city of Seattle's website. You can also read materials from a Feb. 28 public meeting, including a presentation (pdf 1.5 mb), display boards (pdf 3 mb), meeting summary (pdf 444 kb) and a short Q&A (pdf 1 mb).
