Open house for the I-5 Chamber Way replacement project set for July 26 in Chehalis

Public invited to preview construction plans to replace damaged overpass

CHEHALIS – Members of the community and local businesses are invited to learn more about construction plans to replace the Chamber Way overpass above Interstate 5 in Chehalis later this month.

On Wednesday, July 26, the Washington State Department of Transportation will host an open house to share information about the project and what to expect during construction.

Open house information

  • When:  4-6 p.m., Wednesday, July 26
  • Where:  Holiday Inn Express, 730 Liberty Place, Chehalis

No formal presentation is planned. During the open house, project staff will be on hand to discuss the construction schedule and answer questions from attendees.

The wider, taller overpass will replace the existing span that was damaged by an unpermitted overheight load last year.

The 2015 Connecting Washington transportation package and the Federal Highway Administration fund this project. Work is scheduled to wrap up in the fall of 2018.
