SEATTLE – A smoother ride is coming for travelers who use the northbound Interstate 5 off-ramp to West Seattle, SoDo and Beacon Hill. But first, a weekend-long closure must occur.

Washington State Department of Transportation contractor crews from Atkinson Construction will close the northbound I-5 off-ramps to West Seattle Bridge/Spokane Street/Columbian Way for repaving work from 9 p.m. Friday, April 6, to 5 a.m. Monday, April 9. Drivers should follow the signed detour or consider using alternate routes such as state routes 599, 509, 518 or 99 to avoid delays.

This weather-dependent work is part of the next phase of the #ReviveI5 project that will rehabilitate 13 miles of roadway on northbound I-5 between Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Northeast Ravenna Boulevard.

In the Seattle area, drivers can get real-time traffic information on their phone with the WSDOT traffic app, tracking the WSDOT traffic Twitter feed and get advanced information from the Seattle Area Construction Page.
