Note: Starting at noon, Friday, Feb. 15, no work will be completed over the weekend in observance of the holiday. All work will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the projects normally scheduled time.

Clark County

I-205 - Ramp Meter and SR 503 Variable Message Sign

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will install ramp meters at the two connecting on-ramps to northbound I-205 from westbound SR 500 and Northeast Fourth Plain Boulevard.

Cowlitz County

SR 504 - 0.6 Miles W. of Hall Rd. - Culvert Rehabilitation

Description: Traffic will be alternated through a single lane in both directions of SR 504, near George Taylor Road, for culvert replacement work. 

  • Beginning Tuesday, Dec. 18 until further notice: Travelers on both directions of SR 504 at milepost 8.5 near George Taylor Road will alternate through a single lane of the highway, around-the-clock. During daytime single-lane closures, flaggers will direct traffic. Evening single-lane closures will be alternated with a traffic signal. The single-lane closure will remain in place around-the-clock, until construction is complete. 
  • NOTE: The speed limit in the area is temporarily reduced to 25 mph. Travelers should use caution through the area and expect delays. 

SR 433 - Lewis and Clark Bridge - Utility Repair Work

Description: Bridge Masters will be repairing the conduit system along the span of the Lewis and Clark Bridge. 
Work schedule: 

  • Tuesday, Feb. 19 to the morning of Friday, Feb. 22: Travelers on both directions of SR 433/Lewis and Clark Bridge will alternate through a single lane with flaggers, nightly, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for utility repair work. 

SB I-5 Bridge Resurfacing near Woodland and Kalama

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will be adjusting the expansion joint rubber seal along the bridge on southbound I-5, near Todd Road.

SR 503 - Both directions between Niemi Road and McCracken Road - Utility Work

Description: Wave Broadbands' contractor will be working to transfer existing communications lines to new PUD transmission poles.

  • Tuesday, Feb. 19 to Friday, Feb. 22: Travelers on both directions of SR 503, between Niemi Road and McCracken Road, will alternate through a single lane with flaggers, daily, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for utility work. 

Klickitat County

Lewis County

    R 508 - S. Fork Newaukum River Bridge Replacement

    Description: Crews will be replacing the aging temporary single-lane bridge span and building a new bridge structure. 

    • Beginning Tuesday, April 24, 2018, until further notice: Travelers on both directions of SR 508 between Centralia Alpha Road and Kearney Creek will alternate through a single lane, around-the-clock, for bridge replacement work.
    • Note: All work is weather dependent.

    Pacific County

    • No scheduled traffic impacts. 

    Skamania County

    Wahkiakum County

    SR 409 - Columbia River Bridge at Puget Island - Deck Replacement and Painting

    Description: Contractor crews will install a new bridge deck and repaint the structure.

    • No scheduled traffic impacts. Due to winter weather conditions, construction work is suspended through early spring 2019.

    • The ferry departs every day from Puget Island, WA on the hour, every hour, daily, from 5 a.m. and 10 p.m.

    SR 4 - between Messinger Hill Drive and River View East - Tree-Trimming

    Description: The Wahkiakum PUD will be trimming trees along SR 4, between Messinger Hill Drive and River View East.

    • Tuesday, Feb. 19 to Friday, Feb. 22: Travelers on both directions of SR 4, between Messinger Hill Drive and River View East, will be alternated through a single lane with flaggers, daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for tree trimming work.

    Safety Tips for Driving Through Work Zones

    • Pay attention - driver inattention is the number one cause of work zone accidents.
    • Leave room between you and the car ahead of you - most work zone accidents involve someone running into the car ahead of them.
    • Drive defensively - be aware of what is happening around you.
    • Merge into the proper lane before you reach the work zone.
    • Don't use cell phones or adjust your radio while driving.
    • Avoid work zones by using alternate routes.
