SR 542 I-5 to Britton Road - Paving and ADA Compliance - #9362

Description: In 2019, WSDOT contractor crews from Granite Construction will repave and improve pedestrian crossing areas on SR 542 from I-5 to Britton Road through Bellingham.

SR 542 Bellingham to Kendall Area Resurfacing - #9372

Description: In 2019, WSDOT contractor crews will resurfacing nearly 16 miles of SR 542/Mount Baker Highway from Britton Road near Bellingham to Markel Road near Kendall. Travelers should expect 20-45 minute delays behind this work zone, which requires daytime closures and warm and dry temperatures.

Everson Area: Puget Sound Energy Utility Work

Description: Puget Sound Energy crews are performing utility work along SR 544 in Everson.
Work schedule:

  • Until further notice - Puget Sound Energy crews will close one lane of SR 544 from SR 539/Guide Meridian Road to Hannegan Road daily, including weekends, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and brief holds to traffic in all directions could happen between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Travelers should also expect occasional tree trimming work, lane closures and traffic holds east of Hannegan during working hours.

SR 547 Peaceful Valley/Sumas Area Resurfacing - #9372

SR 548 and Kickerville Road Drainage Work

Work schedule:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 5, through Friday, Feb. 8 - Crews will work one of these four days from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. to improve drainage near this intersection and will close one lane during this work. The day is TBD based on weather and crew availability. Flaggers will alternate traffic through these intersections and delays will be minimal.

North Skagit County: Puget Sound Energy Utility Work

Description: Puget Sound Energy crews will trim trees near power lines.

  • Through Friday, March 1  - Puget Sound Energy crews will close one lane of SR 9, north of Sedro-Woolley, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in small work zones between Kalloch Road and the Whatcom/Skagit county line for tree trimming work. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the open lane.

Deception Pass Bridge: Bridge Inspection

  • Saturday, Feb. 23 to Sunday, Feb. 24 - WSDOT crews will close a lane of SR 20 over the Deception Pass and Canoe Pass bridges daily from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for bridge inspections. No oversized loads are permitted through this area during this closure. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the open lane.
  • Saturday, March 2 to Sunday, March 3 - WSDOT crews will close a lane of SR 20 over the Deception Pass and Canoe Pass bridges daily from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for bridge inspections. No oversized loads are permitted through this area during this closure. Flaggers will alternate traffic through the open lane.

SR 536 Skagit River to I-5 - Paving and ADA Compliance - #9356

Description: In 2019, WSDOT contractor crews are building a roundabout at SR 20 and Banta Road/Northgate Drive on Whidbey Island. In advance of roundabout construction, companies with utilities in this area will work to locate and move equipment.

SR 525 Freeland Area - Corridor Improvements - #9346
