SR 18 - WB W Valley Hwy S Vic to SE 231st St - Paving & ADA Compliance - Complete November 2018

Overview

In summer 2018, contractor crews from Tucci & Sons Inc. repaved 13 miles of westbound SR 18 between Southeast 231st Street and West Valley Highway, and two miles of SR 167 between 15th Street Northwest and 15th Street Southwest. In addition, crews also replaced curb ramps at the Southeast 304th Street on-ramp to westbound SR 18 to create better sidewalk connections for people of all abilities.

How you benefit

  • Safety: Eliminating ruts and cracks in the pavement will reduce the opportunity for water to collect on the roadway, which can reduce traction for vehicles. Reconstructed curb ramps create better sidewalk connections for people of all abilities.
  • Economic/Preservation: Repaving these sections of SR 18 and SR 167 preserves the highway structure and reduces the need for costly emergency repairs.

Funding

The cost of this project was $8.65 million.
