Olympic Region Corridor Sketches

A number of Corridor Sketch Summaries are now available for viewing with more  to be added to the website as they are completed.

The Corridor Sketch Initiative (pdf 959 kb) is a new way that WSDOT is working jointly with partners to capture and document consistent baseline information about each transportation corridor around the state. WSDOT is implementing the Corridor Sketch Initiative in phases.

Phase I, which WSDOT Olympic Region Planning completed for all corridors within the WSDOT's Olympic Region in early 2017, was focused on working with our partners on documenting current conditions, functions, and performance expectations for each corridor. Information identifying what is working well and what needs to change for each corridor was also collected in collaboration with local jurisdictions.

Phase II began in late spring 2017. In this phase Olympic Region Planning staff will look at corridors identified as having mobility performance gaps. Working with various WSDOT offices, cities, counties, transit, MPO/RTPOs and tribes, staff will identify strategies in an attempt to help reduce these gaps. This phase will also include community engagement to assist with identifying strategies. A Corridor Sketch Initiative survey was conducted to identify congestion relief measures in the areas of Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Mason and Thurston counties.

Here are the Corridor Sketch Initiative survey results (pdf 922 kb).
