I-5 - NB SR 104 Vic to 164th St SW I/C - Paving, Expansion Joint, & ADA - Complete November 2019

Overview

We repaved about 2.2 miles of northbound I-5 between SR 104 and 212th Street Southwest in Mountlake Terrace. Contractor crews ground off about two inches of asphalt and repaved it with fresh asphalt. The crews also repaved the ramps connecting I-5 with the 164th Street interchange north of Lynnwood.

While WSDOT’s project is complete, Sound Transit continues to work on the Lynnwood Link Extension in this area.

How you benefit

Improve safety
Repaving this section of I-5 eliminates ruts and cracks where water can collect, providing a better driving surface for the public.

Economic
By eliminating cracks and potholes, this project reduces the need for maintenance and emergency repairs. Repaving also helps protect the layers underneath the driving surface that support I-5.

Funding

This $9.6 million project was paid for with money from Connecting Washington, state and federal funds.
