Blocking Incidents
  • This is the activation of the Washington Statewide Silver Alert Plan. The Washington State Patrol is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the following vehicle, a 2005, black, Chevrolet Silverado pickup, WA license C39635M. If you have any information about this vehicle call 911.
  • The SR 162 Spiketon Creek Bridge has been permanently closed due to recently discovered pier settlement. A detour is in effect using Mundy Loss Road, SR 410 and SR 165. WSDOT plans to install a temporary span and reopen the highway to travelers mid-October 2019. View our next steps for a path towards permanent bridge replacement additionally in 2022.
Construction Closures
  • Monday, August 19, to the morning of Wednesday, August 21 – All lanes of westbound SR 520 between 148th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 40th Street will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly with a signed detour.
  • SR 28 between Ephrata and Soap Lake (MP 44 to 53)- Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., expect delays up to 20 minutes with lane shifts and alternating 1-way traffic through Ephrata and between the north end of Ephrata and Soap Lake where the contractor is installing pavement markers, signage and guideposts.
  • I-90 milepost 33 to 136 North Bend to Vantage: This week on I-90 drivers will experience delays due to multiple work zones between North Bend and Vantage. Please make sure to plan for added travel time and please pay attention and slow down as you enter and exit our work zones. If you plan to travel eastbound on Friday or westbound on Sunday, expect an increase in traffic volumes due to holiday weekend traffic.
  • US 97 south of Blewett Pass at Swauk Creek campground (MP 159), Monday through Friday between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., there will be intermittent flagger controlled traffic with delays up to 20 minutes near Swauk Creek campground as the contractor works on a drilled shaft in the roadway. Traffic in both directions has been shifted to detour lanes requiring a 12 ft. width restriction and a reduced speed of 50 mph through the work zone.
  • On US 97 beginning at the junction of SR 970 for 15 miles to Tronson Creek campground, Monday through Thursday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., expect one lane, flagger controlled traffic with delays up to 20 minutes in the work zone where the contractor is installing recessed pavement markers, rumble strips and guideposts.
  • At US 97 Blewett Pass at milepost 159 in both directions near Swauk Creek campground, Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. expect delays up to 20 minutes as the contractor constructs drilled shafts in the southbound detour lane, near Swauk Creek campground. Traffic in both directions has been shifted to detour lanes requiring a 12 ft. width restriction and a reduced speed of 50 mph through the work zone.
  • On SR 243 between Vernita and Vantage (milepost 0-28), Monday and Tuesday 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., expect delays up to 20 minutes in a single work zone and pilot car controlled traffic where the contractor is applying pavement markings and completing clean up work.
  • Monday, August 19, to the morning of Friday, August 23 – The left lane of westbound I-90 between SR 900 and 150th Avenue Southeast will close from 10 to 5:30 a.m. nightly.
  • Monday, August 19, to the morning of Wednesday, August 21 – Up to three right lanes of eastbound I-90 between East Sunset Way and 468th Avenue Southeast will close from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly. This work is weather-dependent.
  • Monday, August 19, to the morning of Friday, August 23 – The Northeast 40th Street on-ramp to westbound SR 520 will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.
  • Monday, August 19, to the morning of Friday, August 23 – The westbound SR 520 collector-distributor lane at Northeast 40th Street will close from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.
  • I-90 eastbound Exit 70 Easton off ramp is closed for construction activity. An estimated time to open the off ramp is not determined.
  • US-12 milepost 149 White Pass: Monday Aug. 19 through Friday Aug. 23, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., drivers should anticipate alternating one way traffic with up to 20 minute delays.
  • US-12 milepost 143 to 144: Monday Aug. 19 through Tuesday Aug. 20 from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, there will be single lane flagged traffic for ditch maintenance.
  • I-82 Union Gap: Eastbound milepost 37 day work Tuesday Aug. 20: Left lane shadow vehicle.
    US-97: Day work Tuesday Aug. 22: Flagging operation & left shoulder closure.
    Night work Friday Aug. 23 from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m: Flagging operation.
    I-82 Eastbound On-Ramp from Main Street: Day work Tuesday Aug. 22 Flagging operation.
    Night work Monday Aug. 19 through Friday Aug. 23, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. alternating traffic, up to 20 minute delays.
    Friday Aug 23 from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m.: Flagging operation.
  • US-12 milepost 165 to milepost 166: Wednesday Aug. 21 through Thursday Aug. 22 from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, there will be single lane flagged traffic for tunnel cleaning.
