Blocking Incidents
  • Right Lane Closure on US 195 SB at MP 81.5 near Cornwall Road for Bridge work near Spangle, expect slight delays, Maximum bridge weight 105,500 legal loads only, no over legal axle weights.beginning at 6:53 am on May 29, 2020 until further notice.
  • SR 290 closed for bridge replacement starting near MP 0.5 at the Spokane River, City of Spokane, EB 290 is closed at Hamilton Street, WB 290 is closed at Iron Court, commercial vehicles are diverted to Freya Street, all other traffic can use Mission Street, beginning at 6:18 am on June 3, 2020 until further notice. Follow signed detour route and expect delays.
  • Lane Closures for construction on SR 290 both directions at milepost 12.5 at Barker Rd, Spokane Valley, the Eastbound Exit to Wellesley Ave will also be closed, beginning at 10:49 am on March 17, 2021 until about August, 2021. Use other routes and expect long delays at times.
  • Five new ramp meters are set to turn on the week of April 12. The start date for each ramp meter will be staggered and are as follows:

    Tuesday, April 13 - Walnut & Monroe Street to eastbound I-90
    Wednesday, April 14 - Division/Browne Street to eastbound I-90
    Thursday, April 15 - SR 290/Hamilton Street to eastbound I-90
    Wednesday, April 21 - Division/Browne Street to westbound I-90
Construction Closures
  • Construction on I-90 both directions at milepost 272.8 near SR 902 beginning at 8:34 am on March 24, 2021 until further notice. Various overnight closures are possible to I-90 as crews continue to work on the new overpass.
  • Construction on I-90 both directions from milepost 295.7 near Harvard Rd Off Ramp to milepost 296.6 near Harvard Rd Off Ramp until further notice. Crews will be widening the Harvard Road overpass. Drivers can expect overnight closures of I-90.
  • The City of Spokane: Starting Wednesday, Nov. 20, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will begin constructing the North Spokane Corridor (NSC) Wellesley Avenue interchange. During this time, Wellesley Avenue between Market Street and Freya Street will be closed to pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular traffic. The closure and interchange work will last until the end of 2022. Please use alternate routes.
  • Construction on I-90 both directions from milepost 250.0 near MP Marker 250 to milepost 270.0 near MP Marker 270 beginning at 7:00 am on April 12, 2021 until further notice.
  • Construction on I-90 both directions at milepost 276.3 near Geiger Rd beginning at 7:00 am on April 12, 2021 until further notice.

    Work begins on three new roundabouts at the I-90 Geiger/Grove Road interchange starting Monday, April 12. On Wednesday, April 14, the westbound I-90 loop on-ramp will permanently close. A detour on northbound Grove to WB I-90 will be in place along with drivers exiting WB I-90 needing access to southbound Grove Rd.
  • North Spokane Corridor construction will cause Euclid Ave. to be reduced one lane in each direction from Market St to Freya St in both directions beginning at 7:00 pm on April 22, 2021 until further notice.
  • Spokane County will have lane restrictions on Geiger Blvd between Thomas Mallen Road and Electric Ave (Spokane City Limits) for road work starting on August 17th to about June 30, 2021. Thomas Mallen Road is open. Electric Ave. is open. Geiger Road is Closed at Grove Road. Local businesses are open, please use extreme caution when travelling inside the work zone. Use other routes and expect delays.
  • Construction on SR 261 both directions from milepost 57.7 near Leisle Rd to milepost 57.9 near MP Marker 58 until further notice. A temporary detour road has been built around the construction zone where crews are replacing a drainage stucture.
  • Spokane County: A contractor will have single lane closures with flaggers for utility work. Expect delays until about April 29, 2021.
  • On SR 17 between milepost 43 and 48 (south of Moses Lake) Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., be attentive for shoulder closures on both sides of the highway.
