SR 20-North Cascades Highway closed with detour between Rockport and Marblemount
A large rock slide is covering SR 20 east of Rockport. The highway is closed in both directions with a detour until further notice. The detour takes eastbound drivers from SR 20 to westbound SR 530 at Rockport, then east on Rockport Cascade Road, and west on Cascade River Road before returning to SR 20 in Marblemount. The same detour is available for westbound SR 20 drivers.

Blocking Incidents
  • Northbound & southbound traffic is alternating on SR 203 just south of NE Stillwater Hill Road (MP 9).
  • US 97A remains closed in both directions from milepost 223 to milepost 230 at the Knapps Hill Tunnel south of Chelan due to rock slides. Motorists traveling between Wenatchee and Chelan should use US 97 on the east side of the Columbia River. Motorists traveling between Chelan and Entiat can use SR 971 over Navarre Coulee. SR 971 is not recommended for large vehicles at any time.

    This project is scheduled to be complete by Thursday, July 2.
  • Update 4:03 PM : On SR 20 eastbound & westbound from Shular Road (MP 98) to Conrad Rd (MP 100) there is an obstruction blocking all lanes.
  • On US 97A between milepost 223-230 (Knapps Hill tunnel south of Chelan), the road has been closed for rock scaling work at the tunnel. US 97 is the recommended route between Wenatchee and Chelan.

    This project is expected to be complete and the road reopened by Friday, July 3.

  • The Iron Goat Rest Area on US 2 westbound at milepost 58 4 miles west of Stevens Pass summit is closed for the season.
  • On US 2 east of Stevens Pass the Nason Creek rest area (milepost 81) is closed from Wednesday at 5 p.m. to Friday at 5 a.m. due to a maintenance issue.
Construction Closures
  • On SR 20 between milepost 194-209 (Winthrop to east of Twisp) Monday through Wednesday, from 7 a.m to 6:30 p.m, expect flagger controlled traffic with pilot car and delays up to 20 minutes where the contractor is fog sealing the roadway. Tuesday, work will in the town of Twisp.
  • On SR 153 between milepost 0-30 (Pateros to Twisp) Monday through Wednesday, from 7 a.m to 6:30 p.m, expect flagger controlled traffic with pilot car and delays up to 20 minutes where the contractor is fog sealing the roadway.
  • On US 2 Stevens Pass between milepost 71-78 (Berne, east of summit), Monday through Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., expect flagger controlled traffic with pilot car and delays up to 20 minutes where the contractor is grinding the roadway and lowering monuments in preparation for paving.
  • Until further notice - Temporary signals will alternate traffic around-the-clock on SR 530 at the North Fork Stillaguamish River Bridge seven miles east of Arlington.
  • Monday, June 29, to the morning of Friday, July 3 - US 2 will be reduced to a single open lane between mileposts SR 9 and Fryelands Boulevard from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. nightly. Flaggers will alternate traffic.
  • Tuesday, June 30 to Friday, July 3 - A single lane of southbound SR 99 between Airport Road and Everett Mall Way will close from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
  • Eastbound & westbound traffic is alternating on SR 530 at 115th Ave NE (MP 25) due to roadwork.
  • Eastbound & westbound traffic is alternating on SR 542 at Sand Rd (MP 7) due to roadwork.
  • Monday, June 29, to the morning of Friday, July 3 - A single lane of westbound SR 202 at different locations between 228th Avenue Northeast and Southeast 40th Street will close from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly.
