Blocking Incidents
  • Beginning, Monday, Oct. 19 through Tuesday, Oct. 20: Beginning at 8 p.m., crews will detour all lanes of northbound I-5 at the 13th Street overpass (mileposts 76.0 to 77.0) to the 13th Street off- and on-ramps to bypass the closure for construction. All lanes of northbound I-5 will be reopened by 5 a.m.
  • Beginning Monday, Oct. 5, until further notice: Beginning at 10 a.m., the 13th Street overpass will be fully closed for the duration of the project.
  • Beginning Oct. 5 through Sept. 13, 2021: Travelers in both directions of SR 6, near Twin Oaks Road can expect traffic switched to a 2-lane 25 mph detour bypassing the closure.  Work includes excavation for bridge piers, bridge construction and culvert removal/installation.
  • Beginning Monday, Oct. 12 from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16: Rock scaling work is scheduled to begin and crews will fully close both directions of SR 14 near Carson (between mileposts 46.34-46.70), at the top of each hour, for 45-minutes in duration.
  • Beginning Friday, Oct. 16 through Saturday, Oct. 17: Travelers will encounter nighttime lane closures in both directions of I-5 on the Interstate Bridge between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. In addition, intermittent short-term nighttime bridge closures may be needed.
  • Beginning, Monday, Oct. 19 through Tuesday, Oct. 20: Beginning at 8 p.m., crews will detour all lanes of northbound I-5 at the 13th Street overpass (mileposts 76.0 to 77.0) to the 13th Street off- and on-ramps to bypass the closure for construction. All lanes of northbound I-5 will be reopened by 5 p.m.
  • On Thursday, Oct. 22: WSDOT crews will close the Dismal Nitch Rest Area for septic system repairs from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Travelers who need to take a break should plan accordingly.
  • Bridge work on I-5 southbound from milepost 60 near Exit 59 / Cowlitz River to milepost 59 will have left lane and on ramp closed, use caution, beginning at 7:17 pm on October 24, 2020 until further notice.
Construction Closures
  • Beginning at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, until further notice: Both directions of SR 506, between Telegraph Road and the end of the Lacamas Creek Bridge, will be fully closed, for bridge replacement work.
    Note: During construction, travelers will follow a signed detour using South Military Road and SR 505. The bridge closure and detour will remain in place until construction of the new bridge is complete.
  • Thursday, Oct. 22, Friday, Oct. 23 and Wednesday, Oct. 28: Travelers on both directions of SR 14 near Carson should expect daytime, full roadway closures of 45 minutes in duration from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., for rock scaling work.
    Closures will begin at the top of each hour, with a 15-minute window to clear stacked up traffic on either side of the closure.
  • Beginning Monday, July 26, until further notice: Travelers on both directions of SR 6, near Jones Creek just east of Pe Ell, will be shifted onto a temporary single-lane, bypass road. This detour allows travelers to safely bypass construction around-the-clock, and will be controlled with an automated signal.
    Note: Travelers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes, for additional intermittent, daytime single-lane closures, as needed.
  • Tuesday, Aug. 13 until further notice: Travelers on both directions of SR 6, between mileposts 22.60 and 22.69, will be shifted onto a temporary single-lane, bypass road. This detour allows travelers to safely bypass construction around-the-clock, and will be controlled with an automated signal.
    Note: Travelers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes, for additional intermittent, daytime single-lane closures, as needed.
  • Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, until further notice: Travelers on both directions of SR 4, between Loop Road and West Valley Road, will see equipment and crews starting work again. This section of SR 4 will be reduced to a single lane around-the-clock until work is complete later this year.
  • Beginning Monday, Oct. 19 through Friday, Dec. 18: Travelers on both directions of SR 401 near the Hungry Harbor Creek Basin, will encounter around-the-clock, single lane closures, and will be alternated through the lane closures using a temporary traffic signal, for restoration work.
  • Beginning Friday, Oct. 23 to Sunday, Oct. 25: Travelers on northbound I-5 near Vader will encounter single lane closures from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. for bridge painting work.
  • Overnight Saturday, Oct. 24 through Sunday, Oct. 25: Travelers on southbound I-5 near Vader will encounter single lane closures from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. for bridge painting work.
  • Overnight Sunday, Oct. 25 to the morning of Monday, Oct. 26: Travelers on northbound I-5 near Vader will encounter single lane closures from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for bridge painting work.
  • Sunday Oct. 25 through Monday, Oct. 26: Travelers on southbound I-5 near Vader will encounter single lane closures daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for bridge painting work.
  • Monday, June 8, until further notice: Travelers on both directions of Northeast Everett Street/SR 500, at the Northeast Lake Road intersection will encounter flaggers directing traffic through a single lane, daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for intersection improvements work.
  • Beginning Monday, Aug. 10 until further notice: Travelers on southbound I-5, between mileposts 58.9 and 59.3 will encounter single lane closures, nightly, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m, for rigging work above and below the bridge deck. Also, the exit 59 southbound off-ramp will also be closed.
