US 97 Both Directions - On US 97 between milepost 159 and 160 (Swauk campground), traffic is shifted to divided lanes around the work zone in the middle of the lanes. A reduced speed of 35 m.p.h. is in place, as well as a 10 ft. width restriction for northbound traffic, and a 11 ft. width restriction for southbound traffic.

Report Detail: US 97 Boundary Bridge #9323 County: Kittitas Highway: US 97 Region: North Central Location: MP 159-160 (near Swauk Campground) Description: In this $4.5M project, WHH Nisqually Construction Services will construct a concrete bridge to replace an old culvert that created a fish passage barrier. Work will include a detour widening to shift traffic while the bridge is constructed half at a time. Two-way traffic will be maintained outside working hours throughout the life of the project, except some instances of work that may require overnight flagging. No full closures of US 97 are planned for this project. Work started on March 9 and is scheduled to be complete in November. Work schedule: Traffic is shifted to divided lanes around the work zone in the middle of the lanes. A reduced speed of 35 m.p.h. is in place, as well as a 10 ft. width restriction for northbound traffic, and a 11 ft. width restriction for southbound traffic. On Thursday, May 27, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. there will be flagger controlled traffic with delays of 20 minutes as the contractor is staging and setting girders for the bridge.
