Clark County

I-5 - SB Interstate Br. to NE 78th St. Vic - Active Traffic Management

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will be working to install smart technology that will improve safety and trip reliability on southbound I-5 in Vancouver. 
Work schedule: 

  • Monday, Feb. 17 through Friday, Feb. 21: Crews will close a single-lane and the shoulder along southbound I-5 between 78th street and the Interstate Bridge, daily from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. for electrical work.
  • Monday, Feb. 17 through Friday, Feb. 21: Crews will close the off-ramp from northbound I-5 to Fourth Plain Boulevard, daily from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m., for electrical work. 
  • Monday, Feb. 17 through Friday, Feb. 21: Crews will close on-ramp from Mill Plain Boulevard to southbound I-5, daily from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., for electrical work.   
  • Friday, Feb. 14: Crews will close one lane of northbound I-5 near 78th Street, from 6 a.m. until 1 p.m. for electrical work.
     

Cowlitz County

I-5 - SB - Toutle River Bridge - Expansion Joint, Deck Repair and Overlay

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will resurface the bridge deck and replace the expansion joints. 
Work schedule:  

  • Beginning Monday, July 15 until further notice: Beginning the morning of Monday, July 15, a single lane on southbound I-5 between mileposts 51.43 and 52.79 will be closed around-the-clock until construction on the bridge is complete. Overnight double-lane closures will be in place from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly Monday through Friday.
  • Note: The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph, throughout the length of the work zone. The speed limit reduction will remain in place for the duration of construction.   

SR 504 - Spirit Lake Memorial Highway - CLOSED for the Winter

Description: WSDOT Maintenance crews have closed access to the upper levels of the SR 504/Spirit Lake Memorial Highway, near Hummocks Trailhead. 
Work schedule: 

  • Beginning on Thursday, Oct. 31, until further notice: Access to the upper level of SR 504/Spirit Lake Memorial Highway, near Hummocks Trailhead at the gate at milepost 45.0, is closed for the winter. 
  • Note: During the road closure, travelers will have access to Coldwater Lake as weather conditions allow. 

SR 506 - both directions near Brim Creek - Tree Trimming

Description: Utility crews working for Cowlitz County PUD will be trimming trees and vegetation along power lines in both directions of SR 506, near Brim Creek. 
Work schedule: 

  • Monday, Feb. 17 to Friday, Feb. 21: Travelers in both directions of SR 506 near Brim Creek will alternate intermittently through a single-lane with flaggers, daily, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., for tree trimming near power lines. 

SR 432 - eastbound near Mt. Solo Road - Utility Pole Replacement

Description: Utility crews working for Cowlitz County PUD will be replacing the utility pole near Mt. Solo Road.

  • Thursday, Feb. 20: Travelers on eastbound SR 432 near Mt. Solo Road, will be alternated through a single-lane with flaggers, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for utility pole replacement. 
     

Klickitat County

SR 141 - both directions between East Jewett Boulevard and River Watch Drive - Water Main Replacement

Description: Contractor crews working for the City of White Salmon, will be replacing the water main along SR 141, between East Jewett Boulevard and River Watch Drive.

  • Monday, Feb. 17 to Friday, Feb. 21: Travelers in both directions of SR 141, between East Jewett Boulevard and River Watch Drive, will be alternated through a single-lane with flaggers, daily from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for water main replacement work.  
     

Lewis County

SR 122 - eastbound between Flynn road and Harmony Resort- Utility work

Description: Crews working for Lewis County PUD will be performing utility work along eastbound SR 122.
Work schedule: 

  • Monday, Feb. 17 through Friday, Feb. 21: Travelers who use SR 122 will alternate through a single lane between the Cowlitz River and Flynn Road, daily from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. for tree trimming work.

SR 6 - near Salmon Creek, east of Pe Ell

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will replace an undersized culvert with a larger box culvert.
Work schedule: 

  • Beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 13, until further notice: Travelers who use State Route 6 near Salmon Creek, west of Pe Ell, will use a temporary detour road along SR 6, as crews work to replace an undersized culvert with a larger box culvert, which will provide for improved fish passage under the highway.

SR 506 - between Telegraph Road and the end of the Lacamas Creek Bridge - Lacamas Creek Bridge Replacement

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will be working to replace the aging and failing Lacamas Creek Bridge, located on SR 506, near Vader. 
Work schedule:

  • Beginning on Tuesday, June 18, until further notice: Both directions of SR 506 between Telegraph Road and the end of the Lacamas Creek Bridge will fully close for bridge replacement work. During construction, travelers can follow a signed detour using South Military Road and SR 505. The bridge closure and detour will remain in place until construction of the new bridge is complete.

SR 6 - Fronia Creek - Fish Passage

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will be working to replace the aging and failing culverts under SR 6 east of Pe Ell. 
Work schedule:

  • Beginning Monday, July 26, until further notice: Travelers on both directions of SR 6, near Jones Creek just east of Pe Ell, will be shifted onto a temporary single-lane, bypass road. This detour allows travelers to safely bypass construction around-the-clock, and will be controlled with an automated signal.
  • Note: Travelers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes, for additional intermittent, daytime single-lane closures, as needed.

SR 6 - eastbound near Jones Creek - Utility Pole Relocation

Pacific County

SR 6 - Salmon Creek Fish Passage

  • Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 13 until further notice: Travelers on both directions of SR 6, between mileposts 22.60 and 22.69, will be shifted onto a temporary single-lane, bypass road. This detour allows travelers to safely bypass construction around-the-clock, and will be controlled with an automated signal.  
  • Note: Travelers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes, for additional intermittent, daytime single-lane closures, as needed. 
     

Skamania County

  • No scheduled traffic impacts. 
     

Wahkiakum County

SR 4 - Closure for Landslide/Debris

Description: A single lane of State Route 4, west of Cathlamet, is now open after a landslide closed the highway Jan. 23, between milepost 19 near Shannon Road to milepost 26 near Mullen Road due to landslide.
Work schedule:

  • Travelers on both directions of the highway will alternate through a single lane around the clock with a temporary traffic signal until the project is complete. 
  • For safety, the speed limit through the area is reduced to 25 mph.  
  • Travelers may encounter intermittent extended delays of up to 20 minutes, while crews continue work to stabilize the hillside.

Wahkiakum County Ferry - Puget Island, WA

Safety Tips for Driving Through Work Zones

  • Pay attention - driver inattention is the number one cause of work zone accidents.
  • Leave room between you and the car ahead of you - most work zone accidents involve someone running into the car ahead of them.
  • Drive defensively - be aware of what is happening around you.
  • Merge into the proper lane before you reach the work zone.
  • Don't use cell phones or adjust your radio while driving.
  • Avoid work zones by using alternate routes
