Airport
The Mukilteo Ferry Terminal is about a one-hour drive from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Depending on traffic, the fastest route is to follow signs from the airport to WA-18 East, then take the I-5 North exit to Seattle. Travel on I-5 for about 30 miles, then take the WA-525 North exit 182 to Mukilteo. Follow WA-525 directly to the terminal.
Motorcycles
Motorcycles Arriving at Mukilteo
Motorcyclists do not need to wait in the vehicle ferry line and can instead ride all the way down to just before the toll booth. A red light will stop you before you take a slight left into the ferry terminal. The employee at the tollbooth will direct motorcycles to the designated staging lane.
Motorcycles should proceed, while on the dock, at no more than 10 mph. Use caution when the vessel car decks are wet.
Motorcycle Loading
The loading order at the Mukilteo ferry terminal is: bicycles, motorcycles, vehicles, and late arriving motorcycles as space permits.
Motorcycles are not a preferential loading category of users, as defined in Washington Administrative Code (WAC 468-300-700). However, motorcycles are often loaded prior to other vehicles for operational and vehicle staging purposes. If you are on a motorcycle and arrive at the dock after vehicle loading has started, you will need to wait until all other vehicles have been loaded before being loaded with your motorcycle.
Motorcycle Fares
Purchase your ferry tickets at the tollbooths, in advance at the kiosk inside the terminal building, or online. This route is one of our busiest, and it's encouraged to purchase your ticket ahead of time.
Trucks

If your vehicle has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of more than 80,000 pounds, is wider than 8 feet 6 inches, has a ground clearance of less than 14 inches, OR is taller than 13 feet 4 inches, you must complete our Oversized/Overweight Vehicle Travel Request form (PDF 154KB) and email it to wsfinfo@wsdot.wa.gov. Please allow two business days for processing, For status updates on requests, call 206-464-6400 or 1-888-808-7977.
If your truck has a gross vehicle weight of over 80,000 pounds but you are hauling less than 80,000 pounds, you do not need to fill out a travel request form. However, you will need to provide a weight slip when you arrive at the terminal.
Bikes
If you're taking your bike onto the ferry at Mukilteo, you can skip the line of vehicle traffic and purchase tickets at a tollbooth. Then, take the green bike lane to the staging area provided near the terminal’s maintenance building. The Mukilteo Ferry Terminal does not have bike racks.
Bicyclists should arrive 20 minutes prior to departure time to be loaded at the beginning of loading process. If a bicyclist arrives after vehicle loading has begun, they will be loaded at the end of the load. Please walk your bike on and off the ferry to avoid passenger injury.
